It expresses solidarity with "black brothers," condemns the practice of lynching in the "Southland," and calls for the immediate release of the Scottsboro defendants. It also asks for punishment for the lynchers of George Armwood, lynched in Princess Anne, Maryland, on October 18, 1933. Copies were sent to Judge Callahan, Governor Miller, and President Roosevelt.
